Terms of Service
Draft — last updated 29 October 2026
These terms apply to the hosted TermPocket service, the website and app run by its developer, rick-mingyu-liu (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using TermPocket, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use TermPocket. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Who can use TermPocket
You must be 13 or older to use TermPocket. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.
The service
TermPocket is a free tool for recording and reviewing your own income, spending and savings goals. It is provided “as is” and “as available”. Features may change, be unavailable for a time, or be discontinued, and Pocky in particular depends on an outside AI provider and may be switched off. Keep your own copy of anything important.
Not financial advice
Nothing in TermPocket is financial, investment, tax or legal advice. Summaries reflect what you have recorded in TermPocket, not verified bank balances. Pocky’s projections are estimates from the inputs you state, not advice, and Pocky can make mistakes. Review every entry and goal before you confirm it: messages never save anything, only the confirmation buttons do. Decisions you make based on TermPocket are your own.
Your account
- Use an email address you control, and keep your password to yourself.
- An account is for one person. You are responsible for what is done with it.
- Sign out on shared computers: your login stays active in that browser for up to seven days.
Your information
What you record is yours. You allow us to store and process it only to provide TermPocket to you, including sharing relevant information with the service providers described in our Privacy Policy. When you use Pocky, this includes third-party AI providers; see Current AI providers.
Acceptable use
- Do not use TermPocket for anything illegal, or to record someone else’s finances without their permission.
- Do not try to access other people’s accounts or data, or test the security of TermPocket without our written permission.
- Do not overload or disrupt the service, get around its usage limits, or create accounts in bulk.
- Do not use Pocky for anything other than your own records and plans, or try to make it ignore its instructions.
- The demo account is public: anyone can sign in to it and see or change what is in it, and it is reset periodically, which deletes anything added. Do not put real or personal information in it.
AI connections
If you create a personal access token and connect another AI service, that service can read the totals and savings goals TermPocket offers it (goal names, amounts and dates) until you revoke the token or it expires. You are responsible for which services you connect, and they handle what they receive under their own terms.
Ending your use
You can stop using TermPocket at any time, delete your records in Settings, and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk, and we may stop offering TermPocket. Where we can, we will give notice so you can keep a copy of your records first.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of TermPocket or from relying on it, including loss of data, mistakes in records, summaries or Pocky’s replies, or the service being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits rights that you have by law and that cannot be waived.
Source code
TermPocket’s source code is published separately under the Functional Source License, Version 1.1, MIT Future License (FSL-1.1-MIT), found in the repository’s LICENSE.md. That license governs the code. These terms govern your use of the hosted service. Neither changes the other.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. This does not take away any protection you have under the consumer protection laws of the province or territory where you live.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using TermPocket after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
